Am I a Suitable Candidate for Invisalign?
Making the decision to have your teeth straightened can be tough. In your mind’s eye, you might have a vision of the ‘teenage years’ type braces with lots of metal and you might be worried about how you’ll look or if it will be painful? Worry not, there are many modern orthodontic solutions that you could consider instead.
One system you may have heard of is Invisalign. Invisalign straightens your teeth using a system of clear plastic removable aligners that gently guide your teeth into a straighter and more even position. In fact, most people wouldn’t even be aware that you’re wearing braces. Invisalign is suitable for correcting a range of problems including crooked and crowded teeth, it can reduce the spaces in a gappy smile and can treat overbites, crossbites and underbites.
A Tailored System
To make sure that Invisalign would be the right system to give you your desired outcome we would ask you to come for an initial consultation appointment. At this appointment, we would examine your teeth, listen to what the end result you want achieve is and discuss with you what can be done and what you would be able to expect at the end of your treatment.
If you decide to go ahead with treatment the next step will be to have some impressions of your teeth taken which will then be sent to the Invisalign laboratory where your full set of aligners will be custom made by their technicians.
At your next appointment, we’ll fit and check your aligners along with any attachments that will help your teeth move gently, but effectively, into position. We’ll also make sure that you know how many hours a day you should be wearing them for and the best way to care for them.
