Do Root Canal Fillings Hurt?

We carry out root canal treatment under local anaesthetic, so rest assured you won’t feel any pain at all during the procedure. Our specialists Endodontists use the latest in technology with a microscope, to treat those delicate root canals. Once the root canal has been sealed, you’ll no longer suffer with toothache and will be able to eat, talk and smile in total comfort.

The Root Canal Procedure

Infections in the tooth can cause a lot of pain, so it’s essential to get treatment as soon as you can if you’re suffering. Our gentle Specialists know how daunting dental treatment can be; they are on hand to make sure you always feel at ease when you are under their care.

Root canal treatment may be carried out over a series of appointments.

Appointment 1:

  • Under local anaesthetic and microscope viewing  a root canal filling is to remove the pulp from the infected tooth. We’ll then clean the root canals and get them ready for the filling.
  • Once the root canal has been filled with a special material known as gutta percha, we may need to restore your tooth with a larger filling or dental crown.
